Laois Partnership is set to help 12 people from the area who will undergo a Career Transformation over the next four months.

To help the participants get back on the career track, John Fitzgerald, Managing Director of Harmonics, Ireland’s leading Career Transformation specialists will facilitate a motivational and interactive two hour workshop for those who have an interest in finding out more about this new programme.

Mr Fitzgerald’s 6-step approach to career change was featured in an documentary in the RTE1 TV series “Rising after Redundancy”. Following the Career Morning, which will take place in the Parish Centre, Portlaoise on February 29 at 11am, applications will be open to all. Interviews will then be held in the coming weeks to assess who would like to take up the opportunity to go through this life changing programme.

Zest4Kidz are a volunteer run charity with a passion for helping children in desperate circumstances.  They exist to let kids around the world know that they are cared for and loved which they do by running camps for children, training counselors, supporting education projects and meeting medical needs.  Most recently Zest4Kidz have worked with children in Belarus, India and Uganda.

John created a workshop feel to the seminar and got people to come out of their comfort zones and start to take risks by opening up new conversations with people they never knew before. He discussed the barriers we put up for ourselves like ‘I’m too old’ or ‘I’ve no experience’ and he encouraged everyone to shift these negative perceptions and look at their strengths and skills and what they can offer an employer.
