Our client currently has a fantastic opportunity to join their Process Development team working with their Research and Development Team in Limerick. The successful candidate will join the team that is part of the Product Technology Centre, responsible for development of new products.
The position-holder will be a key member of the team contributing to initiatives in product and process technology development, working cross functionally with the R & D team.
A Day in the Life of a Process Development Specialist
- Develop expert knowledge on all aspects of processing technology for products, including development of spray dryer parameters for new product categories.
- Develop a fundamental understanding of the influence of spray drying on product characteristics.
- Responsible for conducting development-scale trials in the powder development facility, and data transfer to various systems.
- Maintain change control on plant configuration and all process control & safety systems contained within the powder development facility.
- Perform, complete and maintain SHE risk assessments.
- Collaborate with Engineering team to ensure seamless development & execution of new equipment installations
- Evaluation of new equipment.
- Generate and maintain trial batch records.
- Compilation, interpretation and communication of test results.
- Report writing in relation to trials and process development initiatives.
- Drafting and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Flexibility and willingness to travel to support R&D activities at other manufacturing sites or R&D facilities.
- Proactively propose new ideas/projects/methods and explore patentable opportunities.
- Provide accurate and on-time technical support to operations with effective and sustainable solutions.
- Lead optimisation of processes and procedures.
What will make you successful?
- University degree in Food Science/Food Engineering or related scientific field
- Experience with modern processing technology
- Experience working with technical regulations, food industry being an advantage
- Strong understanding of business environment
- Flexible attitude and an ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
