Responsibility
- As the EHS Engineer, you will be responsible for providing a high level of guidance to the business and:
- Integrate EHS requirements into projects, facility upgrades and process changes.
- Implement EHS management programs and provide support for other programs. Responsible for maintaining the Environmental, Health & Safety Management System (ISO 45001, ISO 14001) and Energy Management System (ISO 50001) requirements. Carry out internal audits and liaise with external auditors and regulatory authorities.
- EHS monitoring, waste management and energy management.
- Lead accident, incident and Dangerous occurrence investigations and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure risk assessments are completed and ensure continual improvement in relation to occupational health and safety.
- Ensure compliance with all EHS legal and other requirements (i.e. statutory inspections etc
Person Specification
- Bachelor’s degree in a Science/ Engineering discipline with specific training in Environmental, Health and Safety is required.
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a multinational environment. Experience in manufacturing environment would be advantageous.
- Highly motivated – ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team, willing to take ownership of work.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Experience managing Integrated Management System in compliance with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
- Excellent communication skills / Team player with hands on approach to resolving issues.
- Be methodical, logical, efficient and highly organised.
Job Description
- Ensure compliance with local, national, and international EHS regulations
- Maintain permits, licenses, and required documentation.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities during inspections and audits.
- Performing and maintaining the internal EHS auditing program.
- Coordinate and investigate EHS accident, incidents and dangerous occurrence.
- Maintain a comprehensive and proactive risk register.
- Ensure that EHS Monitoring programs are defined and complete as scheduled and records maintained.
- Monitor emissions, waste disposal, water usage, and pollution control systems.
- Develop and implement environmental sustainability initiatives.
- Ensure control of chemicals on site.
- Promote a safety-first culture across the organization
