Overview:
Our client, based in Limerick, is one of the leading industrial plants in Ireland, and they are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will be working as part of a multidiscipline engineering department. This position will provide the candidate with the opportunity to work on a wide range of CAPEX and OPEX projects, which enable safety, environment, and production improvements to the process plant.
The Role:
- Collaborates with the project team, including electrical/instrument engineers, DCS engineers, operations personnel and others to implement designs
- Conducts surveys and reports on site equipment and installations
- Generates as built drawings of existing installations and updating existing documentation
- Generates electrical design drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams and project documentation to deliver the electrical and/or instrumentation requirements of the project
- Specifies and procure electrical and instrument equipment according to appropriate standards
- Prepares project documents, health and safety plans, specifications, bills of materials and material purchases as required to implement the projects
- Liaises with the project team and contractors during installation, pre-commissioning including commissioning and testing of electrical and instrument installations
- Works with the plant personnel to optimise electrical and instrument performance
- Ensures all equipment is registered on the maintenance management systems and project documentation is filed appropriately
- Reports regularly on project status, schedule and budget
Essential Requirements:
• Level 7/8 qualification in Electrical Technology and/or qualified Electrician with relevant experience
• At least 3 years’ relevant experience
Desirable Experience:
- Experience understanding wiring diagrams and generating drawings/schematics (using AutoCAD) and implementing electrical installations
- Knowledge of electrical and instrument design standards as well as electrical installations is highly desirable
